7 things i learned at if

This weekend was amazing. A gathering of women worldwide met to meet God, and He showed up. It started as a dream of Jennie Allen’s seven years ago, and God grew her baby into the reality of a weekend where women from all corners of the earth would unite to gather, equip, and unleash. These were big, powerful words that left many unknowns and a few mysteries. {Where are we going with this?} But isn’t that like God to work this way? IF. IF God is real, and we know he is, IF this is true, and we know it is, IF this is what we believe and we confess it with our lips, then let’s see how Jesus can change our very lives. Our greater world.

We united around Hebrews 12:1-2. Beautiful words that challenged and encouraged us weary women to run the race with Jesus and throw off the sin and weight. For more than deliverance. For freedom. {hats off to Christine Caine}

1. It’s okay to not have everything figured out. God can bless that. Big time. This sounded like freedom to me.

2. Repentance is more important and comes before doing great things for God. (Jennie Allen}

3. My new prayer: Jesus, may you be more and more beautiful, not merely useful. {forever grateful to Ann Voskamp}

4. Build your nest in the presence of Jesus. {Psalm 84 & Shelley Giglio}

5. I might have more in common with a Jesus Feminist than I think. {thanks, Sarah Bessey}

6. Life around the table is messy and wonderful. {Shauna Niequist}

7. We are called to continually make real the message of Jesus to the world. {Jen Hatmaker}

It’s here. This IF thing is more than a good thing; it’s a God thing. Check it out. IF. There’s more to come, and I can’t wait.
